Goldie Lookin Chain

Goldie Lookin Chain crashed into the UK mainstream from Newport in the early 2000s, turning distinctly Welsh humour, DIY hip-hop and an eye for the absurd into a run of chart success. Tracks including Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do, Your Mother’s Got a Penis and Your Missus Is a Nutter established a style that was part satire, part social observation and entirely their own. Two decades on, GLC remain a brilliantly difficult band to categorise, with cult status, a sizeable back catalogue and live shows that retain the chaotic spirit of their beginnings. Expect hip-hop – just probably not as you know it.
